
Kathmandu — Starting May 27 (Jestha 14), Nepal will observe four continuous public holidays. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that May 27 will be a holiday for Bakra Eid (Eid-ul-Adha), followed by Republic Day on May 28. With Saturday (May 29) and Sunday (May 30) already public holidays, the break extends to four straight days.
Home Ministry spokesperson Anand Kafle confirmed the decision, citing the Gazette notification that designates Eid-ul-Adha as a public holiday for followers of Islam.
