

Kathmandu — Teriya Magar, winner of Indian reality shows Dance India Dance and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, has successfully debuted as an actress in Nepali cinema. Through the film Mitjyu, released on May 21, she shared the screen with Dayahang Rai and Saugat Malla, marking a new chapter in her career.
Having acted in Indian web series earlier, Teriya returned to Nepal with the desire to portray local stories and characters. In Mitjyu, she plays Ujeli, a village woman whose struggles and courage are expected to inspire audiences.
Known first for her dance, Teriya now aims to establish herself as a strong actress. She said, “Dance is my identity, but now I want people to recognize me as a good actress too.”
