Kathmandu, September 5, 2025 – The Government of Nepal has imposed a ban on 26 major social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), due to their failure to register within the stipulated seven-day deadline. This move has left users of Nepal Telecom and Ncell’s “Social Media Packs” in uncertainty.

As of now, Nepal Telecom and Ncell have not provided official statements regarding the status of remaining balances in these packs. Users are seeking clarity on whether their unused data, validity, and services will be affected. Customer service centers have not offered concrete responses on this matter.

This situation has caused inconvenience for users. The government has directed these platforms to complete the registration process to restore access. Users are advised to stay in regular contact with Nepal Telecom and Ncell for updates on the status of their remaining balances.
