Speaking to Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, De said, “The kind of money that moves in Mumbai is astonishing. A single restaurant can make ₹2–3 crore a night, and on weekends, it’s even higher. I went there myself because when I heard those figures, I couldn’t believe it.”

When asked which restaurant she was referring to, she replied, “It’s Bastian. The new Bastian. It’s on the upper floor, spans 21,000 square feet, and offers a 360° view of the city.”

According to De, the restaurant serves around 1,400 guests per night, with visitors arriving in luxury cars like Lamborghinis and Aston Martins. “There’s a long line outside, and each table spends lakhs on premium drinks like tequila,” she added.

Describing her experience, De said, “I was stunned. Out of 700 people, I didn’t recognize a single face. They were all young, spending lavishly.”

Shilpa Shetty partnered with Ranjit Bindra, founder of the Bastian brand, in 2019. She now co-owns multiple Bastian outlets across India and holds a 50 percent stake in the brand.

In a recent conversation with Kunal Vijayakar, Shilpa also acknowledged that she is now one of India’s biggest restaurant owners.
