Kathmandu – Nepal’s explosive opener Kushal Bhurtel has set a new milestone during the ongoing Quadrangular T20I Series in Hong Kong. In the third match against Kuwait on Thursday, Bhurtel smashed a half-century, surpassing Dipendra Singh Airee to become Nepal’s highest half-century scorer in T20 Internationals.

According to statistics from ESPN Cricinfo, Bhurtel now holds 11 half-centuries in just 55 matches, overtaking Dipendra, who has 10 half-centuries in 76 matches. Additionally, Bhurtel has a century to his name, with a top score of 104 runs in T20I cricket—showcasing his capability as a consistent and aggressive top-order batter.

In the overall rankings, Nepal’s skipper Rohit Kumar Paudel sits in third place with 7 half-centuries in 61 matches, while Aasif Sheikh follows with 6 fifties in 56 appearances.

Bhurtel’s recent form highlights his growing stature in Nepal’s cricketing landscape and his vital role in the team’s batting lineup.
