Kathmandu: Prime Minister Balen Shah’s latest warning has sparked a wave of reactions in Nepali politics. Without referring to any specific incident, Shah cautioned that no one should assume they would escape accountability.
In a social media post, he wrote, “When the right time comes, everyone will face their wrong time. No one should dream of escaping by thinking they are among the one or two who will get away.”
His remarks come amid growing criticism of the government over alleged links between middlemen and judges, as well as the deployment of police personnel at media houses to detain journalists. Prime Minister Shah’s political adviser, Kumar Ben, also reacted to the statement, questioning when the “right time” would actually come.
