Russia began its first parliamentary election since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 on Friday, with voting scheduled for three days. The election features little meaningful opposition, with the Kremlin-backed United Russia expected to retain its dominant position.
President Vladimir Putin cast his vote online on Friday. Voters are electing members of the 450-seat State Duma from September 18 to 20.
