Road access to the core area of Gyirong Port in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region was basically restored Wednesday morning after days of round-the-clock repair work on the damaged G216 national highway.
Rescue teams, relief supplies and equipment have now begun entering the area. The mudslide has left 21 people dead and 541 missing.
