Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, has added an email address related to the prime minister’s role on his official Facebook page, drawing public attention. The email, balenforpmnepal@gmail.com, appears to be linked to his preparation for assuming the position of Prime Minister.
Following the party’s comfortable majority in the recent election, Shah is widely expected to lead the government. Party insiders say the RSP is preparing to select him as the parliamentary party leader, and amendments to the party’s statute are being initiated to facilitate that move.
With the Election Commission Nepal already announcing the final election results, the formation of a new government is expected soon. Meanwhile, RSP chair Rabi Lamichhane and Shah are reportedly engaged in discussions to finalize the list of ministers for the upcoming cabinet.
