Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. Sobita Gautam, a leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) who was elected from Chitwan-3 to the House of Representatives, has said that the new government will be formed under the leadership of Balen Shah.
Speaking to journalists after receiving her certificate of victory, Gautam said the party had already presented Balen as its prime ministerial candidate before the election, expressing confidence that he would now lead the government.
She also pledged to turn the trust shown by the Nepali people toward the RSP into meaningful results.
“People have voted for the RSP as their final hope,” Gautam said, adding that the party would take this trust seriously and work accordingly.
In the Chitwan-3 race, Gautam secured 59,277 votes to win the seat. Her closest rival, Renu Dahal of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), received 20,615 votes.
The vote difference between the two candidates stood at 38,662 votes.
