According to court documents, nurse Alipe Shiva Nagu committed the offense in June this year inside a patient’s toilet at the hospital located on North Bridge Road. Deputy Public Prosecutor Eugene Fua told the court that the victim had been visiting his grandfather, who was hospitalized. Around 7:30 p.m., while the victim was using the toilet, Nagu peeked inside and, under the pretext of “disinfecting” him, applied soap to his hand and molested him.
Shocked and disturbed, the victim did not react immediately but later reported the incident to the authorities, leading to Nagu’s arrest on June 23. Prosecutor Fua said the incident caused the victim emotional distress, including recurring flashbacks.
The hospital suspended Nagu from her nursing duties after the allegations came to light, according to The Straits Times, citing PTI.
In a separate case last month, another Indian national and Singapore permanent resident, Ankit Sharma (46), was sentenced to four years in prison for molesting a woman in a nursing room at Changi City Point mall.
