Kathmandu. In the last fiscal year, Nepal has imported diapers worth Rs 1.65 billion. During the same period, 105.5 million diapers of the same value were imported from 15 different countries, according to the customs department.

According to the department, about 100 million diapers worth Rs 1.5 billion have been imported from India. Similarly, 520,000 diapers worth Rs 5 million were imported from Vietnam and about 15,000 diapers worth Rs 3.1 million were imported from Pakistan, according to the department.

Nepal also imports diapers from Malaysia, Thailand, United States (UAE), Turkey, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Denmark.

Especially newborns, patients who have undergone surgery, senior citizens and those who travel long distances use diapers to prevent excretion.
