Kathmandu – Former Nepal Trust Secretary Arjun Karki was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Sunday evening.
According to CIB spokesperson Shiv Kumar Shrestha, Karki has been taken into custody for investigation regarding a land lease agreement under the name of Nepal Trust.
The case involves the land registered under the Trust at Durbar Marg, leased between the Trust office and Thamsherku Trekking. It is alleged that an additional plot (Plot No. 4605) was wrongfully included, extending a 3-year construction period lease to 30 years, potentially causing long-term financial loss to the Trust.
The arrest and investigation were conducted after obtaining permission from Kathmandu District Court.
