Kathmandu: Chinese President Xi Jinping has directly challenged the dominance of the US dollar in the international economy. He has called for making China’s currency, the Yuan, a “strong currency,” declaring that the time has come for the Yuan to spread (circulate) across the international arena. Xi stated that the Yuan must be strengthened to such a level that other countries can accumulate it as an “international reserve.” At present, this status belongs to the US dollar.
