Kathmandu — The impact of Cyclone “Midhili” (locally referred to as ‘Montha’), which developed in the Bay of Bengal, is gradually weakening. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the cyclone’s influence began to diminish from Friday night.

In addition to Midhili’s fading effect, Nepal is currently experiencing partial influence from western winds and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea. For Saturday afternoon, the forecast predicts generally cloudy conditions in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, with partial cloud cover in the remaining provinces. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in a few places of Koshi province, and in one or two hilly areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Light snowfall is also expected in some high-hill and Himalayan regions of Koshi province, as well as in isolated high-altitude areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Saturday night is expected to remain generally cloudy in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, with partial cloudiness elsewhere. Light rain and snowfall may occur in one or two hilly and Himalayan locations of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, according to the department.
