Kathmandu — A new split has emerged within the CPN (Unified Socialist). Leaders who initially disagreed with Chair Madhav Nepal’s decision and formed a group around Jhala Nath Khanal and Ghanashyam Bhusal are now themselves divided, party leader Krishna Kumar Shrestha said.

Shrestha stated that he and other leaders—including Ramkumari Jhakri, Dr. Vanshidhar Mishra, Hom Budhathoki, Amar Bahadur Thapa, and Arjun Rai—are holding separate talks and expect to conclude in a few days. He confirmed they will not join the Bhusal-led faction and were absent from a meeting convened by Bhusal.
Shrestha also said there is a possibility of returning to the CPN-UML if the party creates a conducive environment, adding that around 100 members might rejoin their former party under the right conditions.
