Kathmandu- A government primary school teacher in Balrampur, Chhattisgarh, has been suspended after a viral video showed him writing extremely wrong English spellings for basic words like days of the week and body parts. He wrote Sunday = Sanday, Wednesday = Wensday, Nose = Noge, Ear = Eare, and Eyes = Iey, shocking viewers across social media.
The school has 42 children but only two teachers. Locals claim one teacher often sleeps in class after drinking, while the other teaches such incorrect English that students have memorized the wrong spellings. After parents complained, the issue was referred to the district education officer, who immediately suspended the teacher.
While the video has become a subject of online jokes, many people say it reveals the alarming condition of government schools and the risk it pose to children’s future.
