Kathmandu—Singer Nitu Paudel was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday afternoon, following a postmortem. Her family conducted the last rites.

Paudel passed away on Friday after a week of treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital, where doctors declared her dead at 8:30 AM.
According to reports, on Kartik 1, she attempted self-immolation in a studio by dousing herself with petrol. After her death, her brother, Ganesh Paudel, filed a police report alleging murder.
Ganesh claimed that his sister had been in a relationship with singer Babul Giri for the past 8–9 years and that only the two of them were present in the room during the incident.
Babul Giri reportedly told the police that he sustained minor injuries while trying to extinguish the fire. The police have stated that the matter is under investigation.
