In a joint press statement released on Wednesday, the leaders accused the party leadership of being individualistic, power-centric, and ideologically deviated. They claimed that Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ formed the new unity merely to maintain his position at the center of power.

According to the statement, the dissident leaders said they had long raised issues of internal democracy, organizational reform, transparency, and an end to nepotism, but those demands were ignored. Instead, they alleged that the party’s new structure was designed to reinforce Prachanda’s personal dominance.

The statement read, “The recent unity was motivated by the desire to regain power by assembling politically irrelevant figures. Under the guise of unity, a ‘retirement home’ has been created, with corruption-accused individuals acting as key allies.”

They also accused the leadership of financial opacity, family favoritism, and a lavish lifestyle inconsistent with communist principles. The group claimed that no financial reports had ever been made public since the party’s inception.

The statement further highlighted that although the party statute limits the Central Committee to 299 members, more than 700 appointments have been made, and plans are underway to expand it to 3,000, creating what they described as organizational chaos.

The leaders said they will now join the “Progressive National Campaign, Nepal”, pledging to advance a people-oriented leftist movement with new vision and programs. They urged other cadres to abandon the old leadership’s power obsession and join the new campaign.

Those who left include Laxman Pant (India In-charge), Om Sharma (Asia In-charge), Sagar Pokharel (Intercontinental Treasurer), Dil Nishani Magar, Ramhari Pudasaini, Dharma Raj Khatriwada, Ishwar Poudel, Baburam Sapkota, and Engineer Pratik Pokharel. They had been serving in various roles across India, Asia, Europe, and Australia.
