According to police, Rawal (28), who works at the Education and Coordination Unit, Doti, was arrested based on a complaint filed by Khadka’s family.

Khadka was a math teacher at Bhanudaya Model Secondary School in Budhiganga Municipality, Bajura. Preliminary investigations suggest that Khadka took her own life due to emotional distress linked to her relationship with Rawal, whom she had met through Facebook.

A suicide note found behind her mobile cover stated, “I couldn’t live with someone who is already a husband and a father.” She wrote that Rawal had sent her a friend request, they had never met, and that he had deceived her.

In the note, she asked her brother to take care of their ailing parents and manage her financial matters. She also expressed regret for losing the family’s honor.

Khadka had entered government service two years ago as a permanent teacher and was the eldest child in her family. Her brother, Pradeep Khadka, stated that the family relied entirely on her income and demanded justice.

Police confirmed that Rawal was already married with children and had pressured Khadka into marriage. He has been detained as part of an investigation into abetment of suicide.
