Kathmandu — Six people were arrested for gambling in Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 6 at Mahadevsthan. The arrested include house owner Sarita Giri (44), Raju Lama (32), Narayan Adhikari (36), Milan Tamang (31), Shani Khadka (34), and Samrat Syangtan (27).

According to police, the group was playing a money-based dice game (Kauḍā) in a locked ground-floor room of Sarita Giri’s four-story house around 2 p.m. today. A team of 10 officers from Thanikot Police Station raided the place and took them into custody.
Police seized 16 dice used for the game and 42,550 NPR collected from the game. During a search, 172,050 NPR was recovered in total. No cash was found with Giri, while the other five had 129,500 NPR. The suspects have been taken to Thanikot Police Station for further investigation.
