According to hospital sources, Paudel was declared dead at 8:30 a.m. at Kirtipur Burn Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment for a week following the incident on October 18.

Paudel and Giri had reportedly been in a seven-year romantic relationship. Her café, “Durbin Café,” was located just below Giri’s studio in Anamnagar. Sources close to the couple said that their relationship had become strained in recent months due to disagreements over marriage.

Paudel had been urging Giri to formalize their relationship, but he allegedly continued to delay, leading to repeated arguments and emotional distress. Friends reported that she had been suffering from depression for several months.

Following her death, Nitu’s brother, Ganesh Paudel, filed a police complaint at Singha Durbar Police Station, accusing Babul Giri of abetment of suicide.

Babul Giri is a well-known music composer and playback singer in Nepal. At the same time, Nitu Paudel has been active in the Nepali music industry for over a decade, known for her dedication and low-profile yet consistent musical contributions.
