Kathmandu — Popular singer and composer Babul Giri has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with the attempted suicide of singer Neetu Poudel.

The Kathmandu District Court granted bail of Rs 3,00,000, allowing Giri to leave custody on Wednesday, according to SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of Kathmandu Police.

The case arose after Neetu Poudel was found dead, having attempted suicide at Giri’s Anamnagar studio.

Paudel’s family claims the two were in a romantic relationship, and that the suicide attempt followed Giri’s refusal to marry her.
