Kathmandu: Kathmandu Gorkhas secured their second win in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket, defeating Lumbini Lions by 22 runs at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 158, Lumbini was bowled out for 135 in 19.1 overs. Sher Mall scored 27, Dilip Nath 25, and D’Arcy Satt 22 runs for Lumbini.

Karan KC, the Kathmandu captain, was named Player of the Match with an unbeaten 34 runs. Akash Tripathi scored 32, Santosh Yadav 26, Milind Kumar and Gerald Erasmus 17 each, and Rasid Khan 14 runs. Milind Kumar and Gerald Erasmus took two wickets each, while Shahab Alam, Santosh Yadav, Karan KC, and Rasid Khan claimed one each.

With this win, Kathmandu keeps its playoff hopes alive, earning four points from four games. Lumbini, meanwhile, has just two points from three matches.

On Wednesday, the day-night clash will see Biratnagar Kings face Chitwan Rhinos.
