Minister Ghising stated, “The contractor has pledged to complete the construction by mid-Poush (December/January) after the fifth extension. It must be completed within this period.”
Following the damage caused to the old parliament building in New Baneshwor during the ‘Gen Z’ protest, the minister highlighted the urgency of completing the new structure to facilitate upcoming parliamentary sessions. “The old parliament building requires repair, so the new one must be ready soon,” he said.
According to the contractor, around 87 percent of the work has been completed, with finishing tasks ongoing. Some materials need to be imported, which has caused minor delays.
The new Federal Parliament Building is being constructed on 157 ropanis of land within the Singha Durbar premises and is targeted for completion by mid-Poush.
