Kathmandu. Palestinian leader Khader Adnan, who has been on hunger strike for 86 days, has died in Israel’s prison. Adnan, 45, a senior member of the Islamic Jihad group, died yesterday, Israel’s prison service said. After his death, Rockets was fired there.
He was found unconscious and taken to a hospital in Tel Aviv for treatment, but could not be saved, The Times of Israel reported, citing the prison service. Leader Adnan was arrested on February 5 on charges of joining a terrorist group, supporting and inciting civilians.
After his arrest, he started a hunger strike. He refused to undergo medical examination or treatment while in prison. Palestine has demanded an investigation into the death of Adnan while still in prison.
