Kathmandu — India defeated West Indies by seven wickets in the second Test, clinching the series 2–0. Chasing a target of 121 runs, India resumed play on the final day at 63/1 and secured victory in just 35.2 overs. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 58, while Sai Sudharsan contributed 39 runs. Their 79-run partnership tilted the game in India’s favor. Roston Chase took two wickets, dismissing Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill, but Rahul and Dhruv Jurel (6*) comfortably completed the chase.
Earlier, India had declared their first innings at 518/5, with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring 175, captain Shubman Gill remaining unbeaten on 129, and Sai Sudharsan adding 87 runs. West Indies’ Jomel Warrican claimed three wickets.
In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 248, with Kuldeep Yadav taking five wickets and Ravindra Jadeja three. In the follow-on innings, John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103) scored centuries, helping West Indies reach 390, but India chased down the target with ease.
This series marks Shubman Gill’s first Test series win as captain. India has now won 10 consecutive Test series against West Indies — a streak that spans from 2002 to 2025. With this victory, India adds 12 points to their World Test Championship tally.
