Mahottari—A man’s body was found in the Machha Bazaar area of Gaushala Municipality–5, Mahottari. According to the Area Police Office, Gaushala, locals spotted the body on Saturday morning and informed the police.

After receiving the information, a police team reached the site, conducted an on-site investigation, and sent the body to the Provincial Hospital in Jaleshwar for post-mortem, informed Inspector Ramesh Lama, in charge of the Gaushala Police Office.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Ramananda Baitha, a resident of Haripurwa Municipality–9, Mirchiya, Sarlahi. Locals said Baitha had been working in various hotels in Gaushala for the past three to four years and had been suffering from fever and health issues recently.
Police suspect excessive alcohol consumption could be the cause of death, though the exact reason will be confirmed after the post-mortem report. Further investigation into the incident is underway, according to the Area Police Office, Gaushala.
