Kathmandu—The faction led by Ghanshyam Bhusal, who did not join the unified Communist Party of Nepal, has applied to register a new political party.

On Sunday, Bhusal’s supporters filed the registration at the Election Commission, naming Rajkumar Kakshapati as the coordinator and Nandalal Banzade as the co-coordinator. The party will be called the Communist Party of Nepal (Leftist Center), and the sunflower has been proposed as the party’s election symbol.
The Election Commission is currently verifying documents related to the registration process.
Along with the application, a list of 23 central committee members was also submitted, including Sushma Rai (Bhojpur), Yogendra Basnet (Okhaldhunga), Nilam Dhungel (Morang), Mukunda Bahadur Roka (Pyuthan), Naresh Prasad Nyaupane (Achham), Prakash Shrestha (Dhading), Lokkrishna Dahal (Bhaktapur), Sameer Gautam (Gulmi), Navin Kumar Kakshapati (Pyuthan), Engis Raj Prasain (Kathmandu), Mira Shrestha (Rupandehi), Laxmi Giri (Pyuthan), Narad Upadhyaya (Kalikot), Arjun Kumar Adhikari (Dang), Bimal Nepali (Dang), Prachandaman Shrestha (Tanahun), Sukundari Shrestha (Pyuthan), Prem Bahadur Tarami (Surkhet), Thagendra Bahadur Rasaili (Jhapa), Januka Shrestha (Mahottari), Resha Dulal (Lalitpur), Sabita Tamang (Kathmandu), Laxmi Devi Sharma (Rupandehi), and Bhim Basnet (Morang).
