Kathmandu – CPN-UML leader Mahesh Bartual has demanded the immediate arrest of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, accusing him of being involved in crimes against the state.
In a statement shared on social media, Bartual alleged that the Home Minister has full knowledge of the weapons looted from the police and their current whereabouts. He claimed that Minister Aryal was involved in orchestrating infiltration into the peaceful Gen-Z movement, inciting violence, and directing acts of destruction across the country.

Bartual accused Aryal of being a “sponsored instigator” behind the burning of government institutions, including Singha Durbar, Parliament, the Supreme Court, and police stations, as well as attacks on private and commercial properties.
He further alleged that immediately after taking the oath of office, the Home Minister issued written instructions to stop legal actions against those involved in criminal activities, despite having sufficient evidence.
Bartual claimed this has led to a surge in lawlessness and impunity and said Aryal’s political connections enabled him to become Home Minister “without effort” by exploiting his role in manipulating the Gen-Z movement.
He demanded that the government dismiss and arrest Home Minister Aryal immediately and begin a formal investigation for crimes against the state.
