Kathmandu— The Supreme Court has registered a petition filed by the CPN-UML demanding the reinstatement of the House of Representatives. UML leaders Mahesh Bartola and Sunita Baral submitted the writ on Tuesday.

According to the Supreme Court administration, the petition has been formally registered, and a hearing has been scheduled for Mansir 17.
Following the Gen Z protest on Bhadra 23 and 24, former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was pressured to resign. After his resignation, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Sushila Karki as interim prime minister on Bhadra 27, based on recommendations from the protest leaders.
The House was dissolved on Karki’s recommendation, a move UML has consistently termed unconstitutional.
