The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on October 4 near Montezuma and Gurley streets in Prescott. Police bodycam footage reportedly showed Scaff-Olson lowering her pants and sitting on a bench. One officer can be heard saying, “That’s disgusting,” as he approached her.

Moments later, her husband, Jason Olson, arrived and tried to pull his wife away from the officers. When he refused police orders to step back, he was restrained and arrested. He now faces charges of resisting arrest, interfering with a crime scene, and obstructing a government operation.

Following the incident, Scaff-Olson submitted her resignation, effective October 31. In a statement released on October 6, she stated that her decision was made after careful consideration of her physical, medical, and family circumstances.

“The Yavapai community deserves judges dedicated to justice and integrity. Given my current circumstances, I believe it would be difficult to continue fulfilling that commitment,” she stated.

According to Fox News, Scaff-Olson’s court hearing is scheduled for December 16, while her husband’s hearing will be held on November 18. The Prescott Police Department has not provided further comments.
