Kathmandu – All 20 teams set to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup, to be held next year in India and Sri Lanka, have now been finalized. The quota was completed after the top three teams were confirmed in the ongoing East Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers in Oman. In today’s match, UAE defeated Japan to secure its spot in the World Cup. Following Nepal and Oman, UAE became the third team from the region to qualify.
The World Cup, scheduled from February 7 to March 8, will feature hosts India and Pakistan, who automatically qualified. The top seven teams from the 2024 T20 World Cup also earned direct entry: South Africa, Australia, England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, and the USA.

Additionally, three teams ranked highest in ICC’s T20 standings—Pakistan, New Zealand, and Ireland—have secured their tickets to the tournament. The remaining eight teams qualified through regional tournaments.
From the Americas region, Canada qualified; from Europe, Italy and the Netherlands; from Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe; and from the Asia–East Asia Pacific region, Nepal, Oman, and UAE earned their places in the World Cup.
