In the 6th match of the UAE T20I Tri-Series 2025 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first, posting a competitive total of 170/6 in 20 overs. Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (40) and Ibrahim Zadran (48) laid a strong foundation with a 98-run partnership, while Karim Janat (28 off 13) and Gulbadin Naib (17 off 10) added valuable runs in the middle overs. UAE’s Haider Ali picked up two wickets, helping restrict Afghanistan in the final overs.

Chasing 171, UAE started cautiously, reaching 54/0 at the end of the powerplay. Openers Muhammad Waseem (10) and Alishan Sharafu (5) are at the crease, with a 15-run partnership off 11 balls.

Afghanistan, having already secured a spot in the series final, rested key players including Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi. Ibrahim Zadran is captaining the side for this match. UAE, still searching for their first win in the tournament, will need a strong batting performance to challenge Afghanistan’s spin attack.

Afghanistan has dominated recent encounters against the UAE, including series wins in 2022/23 and 2023/24, and also defeated UAE by 38 runs in this series on September 1, 2025. In ICC rankings, Afghanistan is 9th in T20Is and 7th in ODIs, while UAE sits 15th in T20Is and 20th in ODIs.
