(Xinhua) — Afghan security forces have killed four insurgents in Tagab district of northern Badakhshan province, Qari Maazudin Ahmadi, head of the provincial information and culture department, said Tuesday.
The crackdown was launched at 02:00 a.m. local time Tuesday in Rabat area of Tagab district, killing four armed members of the so-called resistance front, and the security forces captured their weapons, Ahmadi said.
The state-run news agency Bakhtar also confirmed the incident. The Taliban-run caretaker administration, which announced the end of war following takeover of Afghanistan in August last year, has vowed to ensure law and order across the war-torn country.
