Leaders Who Couldn’t Protect Their Own Constituencies Shouldn’t Demand Oli’s Resignation: Sher Bahadur Tamang

Pressadda

Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Saturday UML leaders Sher Bahadur Tamang  said leaders who failed to secure their own constituencies should not demand the resignation of party chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Tamang also add that the recent election results require a comprehensive review within the party.

Tamang suggested that some leaders are trying to shift the blame for electoral losses onto others, which he said is not appropriate.

“We held our party convention about six months ago, yet the internal division of responsibilities has not been fully completed. In such a situation, no one can escape responsibility by blaming a single leader or the top leadership,” he said.

According to him, if leaders had managed to secure their constituencies and then raised questions about the leadership, their concerns could have been considered differently. However, those who could not even protect their own electoral bases should not accuse a single leader to avoid accountability.

He added that the party will conduct an overall evaluation of the election results.
