Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. According to the latest proportional representation vote results of the House of Representatives election, six political parties are set to gain national party status this time.
As stated by the Election Commission of Nepal, a party must secure at least 3 percent of the proportional votes and win at least one seat under the first-past-the-post system to be recognized as a national party.
Based on the current vote count, the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepali Congress, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), Nepali communist Party, Shram Sanskriti Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party are confirmed to achieve national party recognition.
