Prakash kafle/ Kathamandu. Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party, has stated that he sees no other national leader with a strong prospect of winning besides himself. Speaking at a gathering after securing victory from Rukum East in the House of Representatives election, Prachanda said his role in the country’s future politics and in Parliament would be decisive. According to him, the new Parliament will largely rely on his experience and leadership.
During the victory rally, he remarked that several well-known leaders, including K. P. Sharma Oli, may struggle to secure victory in the current electoral contest. Prachanda argued that the political center of gravity in national politics would now revolve around him.
Although he acknowledged that his party might not have the numbers required to form a government independently, he claimed emerging political forces would still need to work under his guidance. He specifically mentioned the Rastriya Swatantra Party, saying it would likely need his advice and direction while forming or running a government.
Prachanda also referred to the youth-led “Gen-Z movement” that took place on September 9 and 10 (Bhadra 23–24 in the Nepali calendar). He said the movement had created a new wave in the country’s political landscape and argued that he is the most capable leader to channel that energy toward a constructive outcome.
Addressing frustrations among younger generations, Prachanda said the responsibility of bringing stability to the country now rests on his shoulders.
