A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly posting a Facebook Reels video that demeaned and insulted various ethnic groups and expressed happiness over the loss caused by the Bhotekoshi flood.
According to the Cyber Bureau, technical analysis and investigation identified Birendra Madai, a permanent resident of Surnaya Rural Municipality-7, Baitadi, who currently lives in Balambu, Chandragiri-12, Kathmandu. A Cyber Bureau team arrested him on Bhadra 20, 2083.
Madai has been remanded for investigation by the Kathmandu District Court under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063.
