Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu.With the House of Representatives election set to take place on Thursday, actor Rajesh Hamal has called on citizens to approach the polls thoughtfully and responsibly through a video message.
Posting the message on his official Facebook page, Hamal stressed the importance of national unity and political stability at this critical time. He explained that stability is not only necessary for effective governance but also vital for protecting Nepal’s long-term security, sovereignty, and national identity.
Without mentioning specific nations, Hamal alluded to a recent global incident in which a powerful country reportedly launched a military action against Iran without authorization. He suggested that such developments signal increasing turbulence in international politics. In such uncertain global conditions, he warned, smaller countries like Nepal may face heightened risks.
Hamal also referred to the events of Bhadra 23 and 24, noting that the nation is heading into elections without clear accountability regarding those incidents and the reported damage to national assets. He pointed out that the public still lacks clarity on whether the events were connected and what exactly transpired.
Calling the upcoming election both sensitive and demanding, Hamal observed that voters are confronted with a complicated decision. Established political parties, he noted, are dealing with questions about credibility, while emerging political groups are often perceived as lacking experience. This combination, he said, makes it more difficult for citizens to choose confidently.
Addressing the broader geopolitical landscape, Hamal cautioned that without internal unity and steady leadership, Nepal’s independence and sovereignty could be at risk. He urged voters to carefully consider whom they are entrusting with authority and whether those leaders are equipped to guide the country through uncertain global times.
He further remarked that Nepal’s political arena appears increasingly dominated by rivalry and power contests rather than cooperation. As rule-based international systems weaken, he emphasized that Nepal, as a small nation, requires prudent and strategic leadership.
In closing, Hamal encouraged citizens not to let pressure or emotion influence their vote. He acknowledged that the decision ahead is difficult but insisted it must be made with wisdom, calm judgment, and a sense of responsibility. He also expressed his hope that Nepal’s political leadership will steer the nation toward stability and a brighter future.
