India. In a sensational incident that has taken the internet by storm, a viral video captured two college students engaging in obscene activities inside the premium coach of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Train in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The footage, which surfaced online recently, shows the pair in intimate acts, leading to widespread outrage and swift action from authorities.

The incident occurred on November 24, 2025, aboard the train traveling from Duhai to Muradnagar. The female student, pursuing a BCA degree at a college in Duhai, and the male student, an engineering undergrad from a college in Rajnagar Extension, were caught on the train’s high-definition CCTV cameras. The premium coach, typically sparsely occupied, had few other passengers at the time, allowing the act to go unnoticed initially.
What escalated the matter was the involvement of the train operator, Rishabh, who monitored the live CCTV feed from the control cabin. Instead of reporting the incident, he recorded the four-minute footage on his personal mobile phone and shared it on social media, causing it to go viral. This breach of protocol led to his immediate termination by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on December 3, 2025.
Following the video’s spread, an FIR was registered at the Muradnagar police station on December 22, 2025, under Sections 296 (obscene acts in public) and 77 (voyeurism) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Section 67 of the IT Act for transmitting obscene material electronically. The couple has been identified through visible college logos and ID cards in the video, with notices sent to their respective institutions for assistance. However, as of December 24, 2025, the students remain untraced, having not returned to their colleges since the incident. Police are actively searching for them, and if convicted, they could face up to three years in prison and fines.
NCRTC officials have emphasized their zero-tolerance policy for such violations, highlighting that mobile phone usage and sharing of surveillance footage by staff are strictly prohibited to protect passenger privacy and security. In response to the scandal, authorities plan to launch awareness campaigns to prevent misuse of public spaces and deter similar incidents in the future.
