Speaking to the media after the meeting, Sapkota said, “Today’s agenda focused on party unity. We have almost finalized the ideological, political, and policy-related aspects, and discussions today centered on technical and organizational matters.”

According to Sapkota, the parties involved in the unification discussion include the CPN (Unified Socialist), Mahendra Raya Yadav’s NESP, Prem Bahadur Singh and Raju Karki’s Socialist Party, Subas Kafle’s Janasamajwadi Party, and the recently dissident faction led by Chiran C.

He added that efforts are also underway to bring Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’s’ party into the fold.

The meeting concluded that party unity should not be delayed further, warning that any delay could weaken their national political influence.
