Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that preparations are underway for Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen)’s visit to India, but the date of the visit has not yet been finalized.
According to Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel, the visit date will be decided after coordinating with both Nepal and India to find a mutually convenient time. Meanwhile, the United Nations has postponed Nepal’s graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category by three years, extending the timeline until 2029. The ministry said this would provide Nepal with additional time to prepare for the transition.
Similarly, preparations are underway for high-level Nepalese participation in the upcoming COP31 climate conference, scheduled to take place in Türkiye in November.
