Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. A partial lunar eclipse will occur this evening. Astrologers have said that the Moon will already appear eclipsed at the time of moonrise at 6:04 PM.
According to senior Astrologer Jayant Acharya, the lunar eclipse will be observable from various locations across Nepal. As the Moon rises above the horizon, more than half of it will appear covered by the Earth’s dark shadow, he informed. He added that seeing the Moon already eclipsed at the time of its rise is considered a rare astronomical event. In Kathmandu, the Moon will rise at 6:04 PM with the eclipse already in progress, and it will be clearly visible for about an hour.
Astrologer have stated that no special equipment or protective glasses are required to observe a lunar eclipse. Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse does not cause direct harm to the eyes, so it can be safely viewed with the naked eye from an open area.
