Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. The Election Commission has annulled the candidacy of Kishori Sah, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Ra.swa.pa) candidate from Dhanusha-1 constituency.
Chief Commissioner Ramprasad Bhandari stated that the decision was made after it was confirmed that Sah is listed in the blacklists of banks and financial institutions. All relevant documents were reviewed before reaching this conclusion.
According to updated records from the Credit Information Center, Kishori Sah, a shareholder of Kamal Nirman Seva Pvt. Ltd., was blacklisted in 2080 BS (2023–24 AD). Her name also appears in records related to single and joint cheque defaults on multiple occasions.
The Election Commission emphasized that individuals on such blacklists are legally ineligible to contest elections, which led to the cancellation of her candidacy. The development has added a new dimension to the political contest in Dhanusha-1.
