Kathmandu – The Election Commission has taken action against the Labor Culture Party (with the election symbol “soil”), led by Harka Sampang, on charges of violating the election code of conduct. The Commission issued a statement on Friday announcing the decision.
Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai stated that the Labor Culture Party has been fined 25,000 rupees as punishment for breaching the code of conduct.
The notice reads: “For violating Clause (6) of Section 4 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, and Clause (gha) of Sub-clause (1) of Section 13 of the same code, the Election Commission has decided to impose a fine of 25,000 rupees under Sub-clause (3) of Section 23 of the Election Commission Act, 2073, and Sub-clause (1) of Section 48 of the Election Code of Conduct.”
