Kathmandu. Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki took the oath of office and secrecy from President Ram Chandra Paudel. The ceremony was attended by former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, the President, Vice President, Chief Justice, and select senior government officials.

Leaders from the Congress, UML, and Maoist parties were invited but did not attend. PM Karki has been tasked with holding fresh parliamentary elections within six months.

After the oath, she signed the official document, and her husband Durga Subedi also participated in the ceremonial photos. The President congratulated her and wished success for both the government and the nation.
