India has expressed its willingness to collaborate with a government in Afghanistan that represents its people.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated that it is prepared to work with “the government of the Afghan people” in areas such as development partnerships and humanitarian assistance.

According to Indian news agency ANI, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri recently met Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi. This move is being interpreted as India’s attempt to strengthen ties with the Taliban-led administration in Afghanistan.

Spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed that the meeting between representatives of the two countries took place in Dubai. He described it as the highest-level engagement between the two nations so far.

The Taliban took control of Afghanistan’s government in 2021. Since then, it has struggled to establish significant diplomatic ties globally.
