The Government of Nepal has approved the participation of Dr. Ram Prasad Ghimire, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, in Nepal’s Third Trade Policy Review scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The decisions were made during the Cabinet meeting held on Monday (Kartik 17) and were made public on Tuesday. At a press briefing in Singha Durbar, Minister for Communication and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Jagdish Kharel announced 13 key Cabinet decisions.
According to Minister Kharel, Secretary Ghimire will represent Nepal in the trade policy review meeting being organized in Geneva from Mangsir 1 to 3.
Similarly, the Cabinet approved the participation of Secretary Pramila Devi Shakya from the Ministry of Water Supply in the High-Level Summit on Water Security and Resilience to be held in Bangkok, Thailand.
In another decision, the government approved a payment of NPR 603,600 to Padma Maya Gurung as compensation in compliance with a Supreme Court order.
The Cabinet also decided to promote 10 senior colonels of the Nepal Army to the rank of major general, Minister Kharel informed.

Additionally, the meeting approved a preliminary study on the organizational structure and management of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and approved the organizational structure and positions within the Ministry of Finance and its subordinate bodies.
