Kathmandu — The newly unified Progressive Democratic Party (PRLOPA) has formed an interim Chair Council ahead of its unification convention. A seven-member council was announced on Sunday to lead the party during the merger process.
All members of the Chair Council are young leaders, including GenZ leader Ojaswi Bhattarai, Santosh Pariyar, Sudan Kirati, Ashok Jaiswal, and Durga Sob. Additional members from other factions joining later will be added to the council.
According to leader Krishna Sharma, the council will be coordinated flexibly, and Santosh Pariyar has been given the responsibility of leading it. He also chaired the unification announcement assembly on Sunday.
The party ensures inclusivity across all committees and levels, with no nominations allowed for positions. A person can hold one executive position and a maximum of two terms in the same executive post. The central committee will consist of 151 members.
